About Us:
Speed SEJA #802 provides a variety of services for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) or students with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) within SPEED's fifteen member districts. The Itinerant DHH Program's goal is to develop expressive and receptive language and offer the opportunity for students to imitate, create, and expand their language base and usage. Emphasis is place on the development of advocacy, audiology, and impact of their hearing loss on student academics. To achieve this goal, our program incorporates a variety of communication modes adapted for individual needs. These modes of communication include speech, listening, speech reading, sign language, finger spelling, facial expressions, gestures, and the use of assistive devices and technology.
